today I walked by all these apartment complexes, many of them run down. this one was boarded up. a sign advertising for a company that says it decontaminates, renovates, and demolishes was nailed over a window— I stapled my sign onto their sign.
made me think of “home,” … how some boxes are better than others.

Such a beautiful image. You say you remember your dreams more than most: I’d say that’s a rare gift; or did you learn to by practicing? I remember reading somewhere that one could do so.

Great place to put the dream card too.

yeah, i like it when my dreams take me somewhere magical, and i like it when there is some connection between the dream and the place where i leave the dream. i love it when i am wandering around and quite be chance a certain place seems to hold the dream.

sometimes my dreams are so vivid i can’t not remember them, but now i am paying close attention to my dreams in a conscious way. i too have heard of things you can do to remember your dreams, and some people also say you can learn to direct your dreams, lucid dreaming it is called. but i like to believe the dream is one area of life where we give ourselves over completely, where the dream comes to us as a gift that we can accept however we like.

Wow that is a nice touch.

Someone I know once said something similar, that in dreams we might find out what we’re really like, if we’re brave, for instance, or compassionate. You seem to be quite a heroic dreamer – taking guns, saving babies from fires.

Yes, lucid dreams are where you realise you are dreaming. There are also pre-lucid dreams, said to be precursors to lucid dreams: in these you dream of waking up. I occasionally have lucid dreams, but there are two problems with directing them in my experience a. when you realise, you usually wake up soon afterwards and b. directing them is difficult because you usually just want to go with the flow even when you realise. Apparently keeping a dream diary often leads to lucid dreams, so good luck, but remember we love you lots in the real world too 🙂 .

have you ever read work by the author haruki murakami.? i like his short stories the best. in one of them, a man has a dream inside a dream. the book is called “after the quake” and the story is “landscape with flatiron. ” it does make me wonder, really, how we can know, or how we can decide, if a dream is over or not…we could be inside a dream inside a dream and not ever know it. layers and layers of skin. like an onion peel, each layer is the same, only a different layer from the proceeding layer, there is no real inside…

if i ever have a dream inside a dream i will be sure to let you know. and i want you to know too, that i really, really appreciate your comments. a lot.

True; I fear this at times, that everyone I love is a dream. Buddha says not to worry about it, but he always says that 🙂 .

I do know meditation is a bit like the onion peeling, and with each layer coming off the world is more beautiful.
